A NatHERS (Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme) Energy Rating measures the thermal performance of a home — how efficiently it maintains comfortable indoor temperatures year-round — and demonstrates compliance with the energy efficiency requirements of the National Construction Code (NCC).
A rating is generally required when applying for a building permit for a new dwelling, or for alterations and additions that are subject to NCC energy efficiency requirements.
Typically: architectural plans, elevations, floor plans, sections, site plan, window and glazing schedules, and construction specifications for walls, roofs, floors and insulation.
Turnaround varies with project size and complexity. Most residential assessments are completed within a few business days once all required information has been received.
